From Bangkok to Hualien: An Unexpected Twist in an Island-Circling Journey
Mr. Liang and Sha Yun are the owners of Doufu Little House. Mr. Liang was a Southeast Asia correspondent for the China Times before retiring and traveling around the island with his family. In Wanrong, Hualien, they unexpectedly discovered a plot of land for sale and were captivated by its beautiful surroundings. They decided to settle there and create a cozy B&B.
Mr. Liang had worked in Bangkok for many years and originally planned to retire there. However, fate had other plans. He met and fell in love with Sha Yun, and they eventually moved to Taiwan together.
In 2016, Mr. Liang and Mrs. Sha Yun purchased the land. After a year of renovation, they moved into their new home in 2017.

Doufu Little House is a simple and cozy B&B. It has two guest rooms that can accommodate 4-6 people. The room rates include breakfast and are very affordable. The B&B’s courtyard features a fish pond with various fish such as carp, river loaches, and turtles. The water for the pond comes from Wanli Creek, crystal clear. On the other side of the B&B, they are preparing a camping area, which is expected to open soon. The camping area will provide tents, tables, chairs, and other equipment, allowing guests to get closer to nature.
