The name “Tngi” is derived from the Truku language, meaning “to eat until full.” Their signature dishes, black tea and fried noodles, are must-try items. Understanding that most locals start work early in the morning and often engage in labor-intensive jobs, the portions of the fried noodles and many other dishes are generous, with the primary goal of ensuring customers leave satisfied and full.

In addition to the items listed on the menu, there are also hidden custom dishes available. Feel free to challenge yourself and make special requests to the staff, though availability may depend on whether they have all the necessary ingredients on hand.

The owner of “Tngi,” Umaw, returned to his hometown after retiring from the navy. In addition to running the breakfast shop, he is deeply involved in community affairs, holding a key position in the local Community Development Association. Umaw actively encourages tribal youth to participate in community building and has recently been dedicated to developing innovative processed foods using local ingredients, such as Diplazium (wild fern) quiches, egg rolls, and pastries. Wearing many hats, Umaw also serves as the Secretary-General of the tribal Simplified Water Supply Committee, making him a passionate and dedicated young leader in the community.

The shop staff are cheerful and enjoy chatting, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Many tribal members also gather here regularly to exchange news and strengthen bonds. We warmly invite you to enjoy breakfast while experiencing the daily life of Ciyakang firsthand!
