From the mountains, you can observe the changes in Ciyakang Creek. It starts as a small, narrow stream, but as it flows near the tribal settlement, the riverbed suddenly widens, resembling a large tree sprouting branches and leaves, or like a deep cave opening up. Let’s make Ciyakang our center and expand outward to explore, wander, and create our own little Hualien adventure together!

River Tracing Experience

A Secret Stream Where Sunshine Cannot Reach

Yayung Qicing (清水溪) translates to “a stream where sunlight cannot reach.” It is a hidden gem of the tribe, where we have learned to swim and connect with nature since childhood. The water flow remains stable throughout the year, without significant fluctuations. We have planned a stream tracing route of approximately 1.7 kilometers, with an elevation ranging from about 160 to 240 meters. The ascent is not steep, making it suitable for both novice stream tracers and families. Along the way, we will provide explanations about historical landscapes and forest knowledge, allowing you to enjoy water activities. Our professional instructors and local guides will also introduce you to the beautiful culture of Ciyakang..

Weaving Experience

The cultural weaving of the Truku people

Tminum (Weaving) is an important cultural aspect of Truku, and the Chiyakang village still has many weavers who continue to uphold this precious tradition, weaving our beautiful local landscape. This experience takes you through the process of understanding the basis how weaving emerges from the land: from cultivating ramie, extracting fibers, dyeing, setting the warp, to weaving fabric, providing an initial glimpse into these valuable techniques.
