Truku has a rich variety of traditional dishes, and each ingredient's cultivation, cooking methods, and the selection of utensils hold deep cultural and historical significance. We have arranged different agricultural and culinary experiences based on the seasons and the growth characteristics of crops, such as bamboo rice, banana cakes, taro cakes, and more. Starting from the mountains, forests, or farmlands, we will collect ingredients and gradually introduce you to the wisdom and culinary culture of the Truku.
Indigenous Village Walking Tour
Using stories to narrate the way of life, local customs, and unique characteristics of Chiyakang, guiding visitors to stroll through the our Village – Chiyakang. Gain an understanding of the Truku's historical migrations, natural ecology, and cultural landscapes. Visit hidden scenic spots, experience rural life, and immerse in indigenous culture.
Fire Dining Table
Pre-dining Rituals: Experience the touch of soil and creek water firsthand, harvest the ingredients needed for the meal, and participate in preparing the dishes on the table. Through these hands-on experiences, gather materials locally, gain agricultural knowledge, learn words in the Truku language, and collaborate with friends and family to complete each dish on the table.
Weaving Experience
Tminum (Weaving) is an important cultural aspect of Truku, and the Chiyakang village still has many weavers who continue to uphold this precious tradition, weaving our beautiful local landscape. This experience takes you through the process of understanding the basis how weaving emerges from the land: from cultivating ramie, extracting fibers, dyeing, setting the warp, to weaving fabric, providing an initial glimpse into these valuable techniques.
Archery Experience
According to legend, the Truku tribe has a story of shooting the sun, and archery is an essential skill for traditional hunting. In traditional culture, it also symbolizes the spirits of courage, responsibility, gratitude, and sharing. Experience the process of breathing, drawing the bowstring, and releasing the arrow, learning the essence of stillness and focus within archery.

Activity Details
- Reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance, with payment completed within 3 days to secure your spot.
- Due to the time required for insurance processing, last-minute bookings (within 3 days of the experience) may require signing a waiver.
- Please gather on time as scheduled; lateness may result in a shortened itinerary.
- Some activities will offer alcoholic beverages; please drink at your discretion if you are uncomfortable with alcohol.
- In case of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the company reserves the right to cancel or modify the itinerary.
- When filling out the registration form, please provide your real name in passport and your passport number for insurance purposes.
- Participants should bring personal identification, such as an ID card and health insurance card.
Refund Policy
Akay Play Life ltd. offers five tours: Ciyakang Daily Life Experience Tour, Archaeologist Experience , Weaving Experience, Moonlight Story Telling Dining Experience , and River Tracing Experience. Except for Moonlight Story Telling Dining Experience that requires a minimum of 10 participants, the other tours require a minimum of 6 participants. If the number of participants is insufficient, you can choose to join another group or pay the equivalent amount for the required number of participants to proceed with the tour.
If you choose a specific date for the Akay experience, please complete the registration form and payment at least 9 days before the experience date.
Refund Policy:
Cancellation more than 9 days before the experience date: Full refund
Cancellation 7-8 days before the experience date: 20% processing fee
Cancellation 5-6 days before the experience date: 50% processing fee
Cancellation 1-4 days before the experience date: 80% processing fee
Cancellation on the experience date: No refundIn case of natural disasters or force majeure, a full refund will be provided.
For last-minute registrations (within 3 days of the experience date) for Akay Life Play experiences, due to insufficient time for insurance processing, a waiver must be signed.

What if we don't have enough people for requirements?
You can first send a private message to Akay on Line or Facebook. You can choose to either cover the minimum group cost or join another group. If you choose to join another group, the staff can reserve the date and experience activities for you. If the group is successfully formed, Akay will notify you via private message. If no other groups inquire about that date 10 days prior, Akay will also notify you.
Q2.
What should we pay attention to before visiting Akay and Ciyakang village?
Be sure to take mosquito prevention measures. It is recommended to wear long sleeves and long pants, and cover your ankles as forcipomyia taiwana love biting joints. Also, please bring your own water bottle. To promote sustainability and environmental protection, Akay does not provide disposable raincoats but offers umbrellas for borrowing. Does Akay provide transportation shuttles?
Akay only provides a shuttle service from "Linrong Xinguang Train Station." If you need transportation from further away, you will need to arrange it yourself.

Does Akay offer services for just meals, walking tours, or experiences only?
These are considered customized itineraries. If you need any of these services, please feel free to send a private message to Akay.

Are the itineraries suitable for elderly people or children?
All our itineraries are suitable for all age groups. The walking routes are either flat or gently sloping, and the stream tracing routes are relatively easy. Akay has several experiences of recepting guests of all ages.
Q6.
Why are children over 3 years old charged the same price as adults?
In experiential tourism, the most significant cost is labor. Therefore, regardless of whether it's adults or children participating, there is virtually no difference in our costs. However, for children aged 0-3, considering that parents are primarily responsible for their care during the main activities, we only charge for insurance, meals, and administrative fees.

What should we do if it rains?
Except for river tracing, all of our activities can still proceed in the rain. If it rains during a stream tracing activity, we can switch to other activities.

Is it tiring to join in?
You may be tired. But won't be emotionally exhausted.

Do you all live in the mountains?
Our village covers both mountains and plains. Most of our people live in the plains. Do you want to find out the reason? Come and join us!

Are you all indigenous people?
Although most of the residents in our village are of native descent, we, the Akay tribe, hold an open-minded attitude towards growing together. We welcome passionate individuals interested in our culture and ethnicity to join us. Therefore, we also have partners from other regions within our village. Furthermore, our village is adjacent to Hakka villages, making the demographics here very diverse and rich in heritage.

If I plan to enter the tribe by tour bus, is there anything I need to be aware of?
